Commentary on the catastrophic weather patterns now experienced due to climate change. A Contemporary Ballet for Contemporary Times.
"Aeolian Rage" uses peer-reviewed research and weather data as its basis. Voice and contemporary ballet reflect the weather data amplifying the unpredictability and extremity of it.
Too many people view the environment strangely: either to commodify it; or, to appreciate it as simply a thing of beauty or play.
It is objectified
The time for these attitudes should have ended decades ago, now more than ever, given the climate emergency.
We place a piece of art in a gallery- an object still, but it becomes worthy of further consideration. We place the visual representation of environmental catastrophe in a gallery - to make it more worthy for consideration in the same manner.
A woman visits the gallery and becomes the embodiment of nature, emotively experiencing the natural weather patterns and the catastrophic. She hears the voice of the nature the whispers and wails.
*an incredibly powerful performance that left people awed and deeply moved*
